Rowena Cua
Rowena Cua is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in JFB Myofascial Release. She is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Rowena has had advanced and extensive training in Myofascial Release and has studied directly with John F. Barnes since 2006. She is an assistant instructor for his seminars. She is the host and facilitator of the Las Vegas MFR Study Group for local therapists. Her goals and intentions for BodyMFR is to create a healing environment and community of love and natural healing.
Her work with MFR began in 2005 as a patient suffering from migraines and women's health issues. As a former gymnast and athlete in competitive sports, she had injures that led to chronic pain. She found significant relief of her own chronic symptoms with Myofascial Release. As a patient, feeling and seeing the rapid improvements in her own health and well-being, she felt a strong calling to become a JFB MFR therapist after attending The John Barnes's Healing Seminar in Sedona, AZ in 2005. Rowena wanted to own her MFR wellness center to practice this powerful and sacred healing modality to help other people to get back to a healthy active lifestyle.
Since then Rowena has focused on studying JFB MFR and continues taking seminars to deepen and expand her knowledge and manual skills further. Rowena has completed and repeated all of the required classes to be an Expert Myofascial Release Practitioner. She currently uses MFR as her primary modality along with Craniosacral Therapy and energy work. Rowena has also been a dedicated instructor and educator at European Massage Therapy School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also one of six members of the advisory board for the school. She has been invited to talk on multiple radio shows and health expos as an expert in Myofascial Release and Fascial Tissue Dysfunction, educating and promoting the healing benefits of authentic healing through Myofascial Release. She devotes her professional career to educating the public, fellow massage therapists, massage students, and personal trainers on the benefits of JFB Myofascial Release.
Her other trainings in therapeutic bodywork include techniques from Dr. Maka’ala Yates in Mana Lomi, a form of Hawaiian hot stone massage, Mojave Rain (TM) a Native American ritual with therapeutic essential oils by Jordania Goldberg, and aromatherapy with AromaTouch Technique and Raindrop Therapy. In addition, she has trained and studied Inca/Mayan Shamanism with Elena Radford.
Some of her clients include professional dancers, athletes, Circque de Soleil performers, MMA/UFC fighters, physical/massage/occupational therapists, attorneys, entrepreneurs and personal trainers. She also has extensive experience in treating pre and post natal mothers, infants and children.
Opinions About Us
I have two children who are polar opposites of each other. One is mellow, and the other is quite spirited. At the end of the day, one thing is for sure. MFR helps quiet their soul and unwind their minds. I've seen them go from uptight or high-strung to a much-needed calm within minutes just by a gentle rocking motion. This method is not just for adults, but for children as well.

A dancer has a high tolerance for pain and sometimes we allow that to go numb just to get through the movements. What I love about receiving MFR as a dancer is being able to move my body without the pain and restrictions I built up while training. The greater range of motion and effortless freedom to move has helped me to continue my training and enjoy a longer career with dance.
